Hero Honda targeting African Motorcycle Market
With major changes in Hero Honda, the motorcycle manufacturer is also planning to expand their business to Tanzania of South Africa. Talking about Tanzania, it makes a real lucrative target for the company as it is an agriculture based city with 50% of national income coming from agriculture. Hero Honda is planning to launch its two major models Hero Honda CD Deluxe and Hero Honda Splendor in this city as it will truly solve the purpose of the farmers out there. These models are designed specially to meet the domestic requirements of the users. Tanzania is going to get a lot from these models and in return the company will also flourish. The company officials have yet not showed their interest in establishing their production units in Tanzania but certainly a thorough study will be conducted before any finalised statements. Till now the company was not initiating any thoughts of conducting business with other countries as it was a joint venture with Honda group but now when the Munjal group is all owner of the company, they want to expand their business to a large extent. The motorbike was ideal for tough roads in rural area and had been selling like hot cake in India where in November last year, the company rolled out the 11th million units and it was the largest single brand in the world. Part of the Green Revolution that India underwent has been attributed to this motorcycle for its ability to easily maneuver through the farms and recommended for any country with similar terrain and wants to follow the same route"
