Why did my speedometer, odometer and tachometer on my 2004 Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 stop working?
I have a 2004 Harley Sportster xl1200r. The speedo, tach and odometer stopped working. The tach is frozen at 1800 rpm and the led odometer does not even light up.
Can anyone tell my what happened and how much I can expect to pay to have it fixed?
I checked out the fuses and everything is okay there. 2 New developements...
The high beams some times work and sometimes do not, headlight is fine but switching on high beam shuts the whole thing off.
When I put the key in, SOMETIMES, the blinkers flash a few times. I wasn't able to count the number of times but I understand that is a code. It happened 2 out of the last 7 times I rode and I havent been able to reproduce it.
Idiots give thumbs down for good answers.
Check your fuse.
Happened to me 3 days ago.
Check for chafed wiring in those circuits. Fuses usually have a reason for blowing.
