Different generator for Dnepr MT11 Motorcycle?
I am asking this on behalf of someone who can't get on line.
He has a Dnepr MT11, and needs a generator. This model is apparently an early one with a raised section in the centre of the top of the crankcase cover. He has a generator that is available now for MT11 and whilst it fits in the hole it locates in without the drive cog, fit the cog and it is too low on the cover and cannot locate. He has been told that the earlier Dnepr MT11s used a generator smaller than the approx 35cm dia of the one now available.
So the question is, can another generator, (perhaps the alternator from a car?) be used? If so which one and how is the wiring connected?
All helpful suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks.
