Polishing Your Chopper Motorcycle
Polishing plays an important role in increasing the grace of your bike. Polishing can give a brand new look to your chopper motorcycle. There are various types of polish available in the market, but you should use only automotive polish. Automotive polish is specially made for polishing motorcycles. Maximum part of the chopper motorcycles is made up of chrome. Therefore, chrome is having its own place in manufacturing. Chrome is used to give a blazing and flashy look. Chrome can get rust and rust is the enemy of all bike fans. There is nothing as disappointing than rusted chrome on an attractive bike. Polishing is very essential as it can remove the surface oxidation from your motorcycle that feeds the rust. It can also buff out every small scratch or stain, which is left unchecked and become the breeding ground of the rust later.
Metal polish can protect chrome very efficiently from rusting. Metal polish is strong enough to clean the surface deeply and removes the rough stains, surface oxidation and soap or water stains. If chrome part of your chopper motorcycle has being heavily rusted, then you may need to re-coat the chrome. This can be an expensive option; therefore you must polish your bike at regular interval of time. You can seal and protect all the metals in your motorcycle with a shield of polish. It is recommended to polish your motorcycle after every six months.
How to Polish
You can use buffing kit to polish your bike effectively and easily. Polishing requires different types of polish for different surfaces.
You can’t polish chrome with an aluminum polish, as aluminum polish is useless on chrome and it is a waste of money. Therefore, you should consider the types of metals, which you want to polish – chrome, aluminum, stainless steel etc. and then buy the polish. There is a wide selection of specialized polishes available in the market.
