Keeping Passengers Safe
With Christmas upon us (its less than two months, horror) people will be flocking to the motorways, making journeys to see the family. Fewer daylight hours and colder temperatures will add to the danger, so make sure you implement these safe driving tips and be safety conscious.
Obey all laws about seatbelts. Make sure that everyone has one on. They're not there for the love of it; statistics prove that they will save lives in an accident, so make sure your children have their belts on. Not just for their safety, but for yours.
Bring activities to keep your children occupied, as bored kids can prove a distraction to the driver. Games companies sell magnetic versions of old classics for long journeys so they can keep each other occupied, and you can keep your mind on the road.
If any of your passengers are prone to travel sickness, get some ginger biscuits, as ginger suppressed nausea, or some of the many over the counter remedies. When passengers are happy they demand less from the driver, meaning you can focus on the drive ahead of you.
If your child is still of an age where they need a booster or car seat, then make sure they are strapped in properly and can't undo the harness. Check government websites to ensure the seat hasn't been recalled, as an alarming amount f these seats get taken back each year due to lack of safety features or problems that have been found.
If you are planning a long drive this Christmas, make sure that you have Car Insurance.
