How do compounds get the color black and brown?
so for the most part colors come from a partially filled d sub orbital. the compound absorbs some of the spectra. I didn't think it was possible for something to absorb everything for black compounds and what color is the brown absorbing? i know there are a few other mechanisms for color like oxygen's blue color. any help would be nice thank you
i'm talking about the chemistry behind it, like how it would absorb most of the spectrum.
and what color the brown compunds are absorbing
For black no problem there is no colour associated to black . Black is what a person feels in the absence of any visible radiation. It is only a physiological notion. You fell black when no visible radiation reaches your retina.
Brown is a mixture of other colrs. I have asite which explains it
