2001 KTM 200 MXC or EXC?
I own a 2001 KTM200. But i dont know if it is a EXC or an MXC so is there any way that i can tell which one it is? Because the VIN sticker is gone so i dont know how else to tell? plz help
By the way there is no tail light and no head light. But there looks like there used to be a hook up for a head light but i dont know?
both the MXC & EXC have the necessary wiring for a head light & tail light ... the EXC merely came from the factory with those installed but the MXC could easily be added since it was pre-wired.
pretty much the only difference between the two bikes is the MXC has a closer ratio gearing in the transmission and stiffer suspension for bigger jumps on a MX track (from the factory)... the EXC had softer suspension for more woods riding (less big jumps) and the wide ratio transmission for higher speeds for fire breaks, cross country / desert racing.
but with the lights removed and a number plate installed on the front, it would be very difficult to tell the difference between the bikes unless you had another one to compare too that you knew was either the E or M model...
I've owned several of both the E & M models.
